Build a printable month-at-a-glance calendar with notes for each day, or a blank template to fill in by hand.

Print a clean month-at-a-glance calendar for any month, with a notes box in every day. Type your plans in before printing, or print it empty and write on it by hand.

How it works

The calendar grid is worked out from the month and year you choose, with weeks running Sunday to Saturday. Each day has its own box to type notes in. Notes are stored against the actual date (year-month-day), so they stay attached to the right day when you move to another month and back.

Everything is saved in this browser as you type.

How to use it

Choose the month and year with the arrows and the boxes at the top.
Type appointments and notes into the day boxes.
Optionally rename the calendar by clicking its title.
Choose a Color theme and Page width, and click Print (with 100% scale and headers and footers off).

Options & controls

Choosing the month

Previous month / Next month (arrows): Move one month back or forward. December to January (and back) changes the year as well.
Month: A drop-down of the twelve months.
Year: A number box. Type any year; if the box is empty or invalid, the last valid year stays in use. Defaults to the current month and year.

The calendar

Title: The heading at the top left of the sheet, shown in capitals. Default: “Monthly Calendar”. The month and year are printed at the top right.
Day headings: Sun to Sat, across the top. The week always starts on Sunday.
Day boxes: One box per day, with the date number in the corner and a notes area you can type in. Boxes for days that belong to the previous or next month are left out, so they are blank space.

Print and page settings (shared by every printable)

Color theme: Five swatches — Slate (default), Ink Blue, Forest, Sepia and Mono — that recolour the text, ruled lines and section headings on the sheet. Mono is pure black, best for black-and-white printers. The selected swatch has a ring around it.
Page width: A6 (105 mm), A5 (148 mm), B5 (176 mm), A4 (210 mm, default) or Letter (215.9 mm). This is how wide the sheet is when printed. It does not choose your paper — pick that in the print dialog — but a narrower width leaves room to print smaller cards or half-pages, and one that matches your paper fills it edge to edge. On a phone the on-screen sheet is never wider than the screen.
Print: Opens your browser's print dialog for the sheet. Only the sheet itself is printed: the buttons, pickers, remove (×) buttons, “+ Add row” links and the page-break guides are left out, and so is the grey placeholder text in empty fields.
Reset: In the title row. After you confirm a warning (“Clear this calendar and start over? This can't be undone.”), it resets the title, goes back to the current month and year, restores the Slate theme and A4 width, and deletes every note you have written, in every month.
Page break guides: If the sheet is longer than one page, dashed lines labelled “Page 2”, “Page 3” and so on appear on screen to show roughly where each new A4 page will start. They are an estimate to help you avoid a row being cut in half, and they never print.

Tips & guidelines

Keep notes short — each day box is small, and long text scrolls inside the box instead of enlarging it, so it may not all show when printed.
Do a whole year: choose a month, fill it in, move on to the next, and print each. Notes for every month stay saved.
Use A5 or A6 width to make a small desk or fridge calendar.
In the print dialog, set the scale to 100% (or “Actual size”) and turn off “Headers and footers”. Otherwise the browser shrinks the sheet and adds a date and web address to the page.
For a blank template to fill in by hand, leave the fields empty (or press Reset and confirm) and print. Empty rows print as blank lines and empty boxes.
Use Print preview first to check where the page breaks fall, and choose the paper size and orientation there.
Prefer the Mono theme when printing in black and white, so light colours do not come out too faint.

Limits

The template is one fixed layout; you can change the rows, text and colours but not the arrangement of the sections.
Check boxes are drawn empty for ticking with a pen — they cannot be ticked on screen.
The layout is designed for portrait pages.
The week always starts on Sunday, and there is no option for a Monday start.
There are no public holidays or recurring events; every note is typed by hand.
The calendar uses the Gregorian calendar only.

Saved in your browser

The title, the month and year, every day's notes (for all months), and your theme and page-width choices are saved in this browser's local storage, on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere. Reset deletes all of it, and so does clearing this site's data in your browser.
